Zdeněk Dlouhý

Iam a photographer with a rich professional background that includes not only commissioned work, but also authorial projects, exhibitions, and published articles. My photographs have appeared in Czech magazines as well as in international publications, where my interviews and artist profiles have also been featured. Some of my works have also been presented as fine art prints in galleries.nnI also have an extensive competition history, having taken part in many contests and receiving awards and recognition for my photographic work.nnI specialize in fine art portraiture and artistic photography, where I combine painterly aesthetics with modern technique. In every image, I look for authenticity, story, and emotion, because I believe these are the qualities that make photography timeless.nnI work primarily in my own studio, ZD-foto, which gives me complete control over light and atmosphere. My style is defined by precise work with lighting, color, composition, and expression, as well as careful post-production that elevates each photograph into the realm of a small work of art. A significant part of my work is also devoted to authorial projects with a deeper purpose—for example, Phototherapy, which helps women build confidence and embrace their appearance through photography.nnAs an ambassador for SIGMA, Retouch4me and MEGAPIXEL, I have long collaborated on testing photographic equipment and professional retouching tools. I share the experience gained from this work through workshops, lectures, and individual courses, where I teach photography as a complete process—from the initial idea and communication with the model to precise post-production.nnFor me, photography is above all about story and emotion. I see each image as a piece of personal history that should evoke the same feeling even years later as it did at the moment it was created.
